Opening QuickTime movies

You can create a new movie or open an existing movie, either of which are displayed in the Movie Viewer window.

To create a new movie:

1 Choose File > New Special > New QuickTime Movie. The New QuickTime Movie dialog box appears.

2 Enter a name in the Name field.

3 Choose the movie size from the pop-up menu. You can choose one of the pre-defined sizes from the pop-up or enter your own pixel values in the corresponding text fields.

4 Choose a background color or leave the default choice, which is white.

5 Click OK. The Movie Viewer window appears with the background track in place.

6 Click the Show TimeLine Window button () to display the TimeLine Window, and you'll see the background track and track bar.

To open an existing movie:

1 Choose File > Open, navigate to the movie file, and open it. The movie opens in the Preview tab in the Movie Viewer window.

2 Click the Show TimeLine Window button () to display the TimeLine Window. You should see the tracks associated with the movie. Click the Layout Tab to enable Layout Editing within the Movie Viewer Window.
